Edakkal cave 

Superbly set in an enclosed area, the caves of Edakkal lures tourists in large number. Edakkal was deserted for about a millennium, as the forest shielded the caves. The structure of the cave date back to the Neolithic era and was discovered by Fred Fawcett in 1890 when he was on a hunting trip. Literal meaning of the term Edakkal is 'stone in between' and is completely synonymous.

Meenmutty Waterfalls

Falling from a height of 984 feet, Meenmutty Waterfalls is the second highest waterfall in Kerala. The fall is nestled amidst the lush green area of Mepadi forest range, under the South Wayanad forest division, at Chitragiri on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The waterfall is a divided into three tires, each measuring a length of 300 feet.

Soochipara Falls (Sentinel Rock Waterfalls) is perhaps the most picturesque spot located in the periphery of Wayanad. It is a treat for eyes to see the milky white stream of water making its way to the rivers by passing through the rocky cliffs and clinging trees. The waterfall at the end joins Chaliyar River.

Banasura dam

The Banasura dam is recognized as the largest earthen dam in India and second largest of its kind in Asia. To one's astonishment, stacks of boulders and stones were used to make this extravagant dam. It's a picturesque spot, people with family can go for a lazy boat ride and adventurers can indulge here in trekking activities. The scenic beauty of the dam also serves as shelters for the campers to indulge in overnight camping.

Chembra Peak

Standing tall at an elevation of 6800 feet above the sea level, the Chembra Peak is the highest mountain in Wayanad. The rugged terrains of Chembra Peak are covered with green grasses and meadows making it looking nothing less than a spectacular Shamrock. The peak is a fusion of grace and thrill.

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary

Spread over a sprawling area of 344 sq. km., Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is the personified version of famous wildlife sanctuaries in the South. The wildlife sanctuary is a small part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. There are two parts of the wildlife sanctuary- Muthanga towards the east partnering with Tamil Nadu and Tholpetty in the north side bordering Karnataka.
